Let’s kick off this list with my personal favourite work cafe in Barcelona. Lulu and Flyn has two central locations in the city and is known for its funky music, fresh flowers and mix of art decor. The coffee is great and the food is delectable. My go-to? A matcha latte and a slice of the vegan banana bread.

If you’re looking for a spot to perch up for the day, this cafe has a dedicating work space for all my fellow laptop-loving workers.

Location: Carrer de la Ribera 18, 08003 El Born 

A hot spot popularised by locals and expats alike, Alsur Café offers free Wi-Fi and a killer set up.

In terms of the snacksuation (snacks situation), prepare yourself for large serving sizes of both sweet and savoury options.

With multiple shops speckled throughout this bustling city, Alsur Café is an ideal, accessible option for both studying and working.

Keep in mind that given its popularity, the prices are a bit more expensive than other stores.

With that being said, there is a decent lunch deal: A brunch or lunch meal that includes a coffee, or a pastry.

On a rather unrelated note: the coffee mugs are so damn cute.

14. Espai Joliu

As a plant concept store, Espai Joliu is the perfect fit for those seeking greenery, inspiration, and a decent coffee.

They also sell art, artisan jewellery, plants, and trendy magazines.

The space is immersed in plants of all sizes, making it a verdant, whimsical type of space. This is hands down a local’s favourite.

Along with scrumptious cookies and palatable cakes, there’s also a handful of vegan options on offer.

Keep in mind that the space can get pretty packed with other freelancers, so get in early to claim your space.

13. Federal Café

Location: Passatge de la Pau, 11, 08002 Gotico

This Aussie-owned gem is home to some of the best coffee and brunch in all of Barcelona.

Federal Café is home to great service, skilful latte art and all round good vibes, making up an experience you’ll remember. With two locations available, I seem to find myself crawling back to the trendy, open design of that in the Gothic Quarter.

With a banging brunch menu, a selection of fresh, mouth-watering pastries, and Australian-standard coffee, there’s also an area that specifically caters to freelancers.

There are a multitude of big group tables that act as a miniature co-working space. These are ones that are fit to tuck yourself away in, as you get buried into your work.

12. Satan’s Coffee

Barcelona’s original speciality coffee shop, Satan’s Coffee, gets a big ‘hell yeah’ from me. Quality coffee, devilish snacks, drinks, and if you walk through to the very back, a perfect spot to sit and chill out. Praise be to the coffee gods!

For more space to yourself, head to the very back (of the Eixample store) where you’ll find there’s also less people, large, open desks, comfy couches, and a stylish, plant-graced design sure to inspire.

11. Somewhere Café

With an inviting, open set up, Somewhere Café is a nifty place to get stuck into your work.

With a wealth of scrumptious snacks, lunch, and beverages on offer, Somewhere Café is also a great spot to spend a few hours with your mates after you’ve completed your workload for the day.

Robot House boasts a commodious, light-filled, plant-predominant space, sure to spin you into a creative frenzy.

Eat My Trip is by far one of the best spaces to work from during the week.

The weekends get jam-packed, so in all transparency, only head here if you can make it anywhere between Monday to Friday.

You’ll be salivating over the elaborate smoothie menu and mouth-watering goods.

Have a taste of their matcha and beet lattes, specialty smoothie bowls, and delve into the eclectic array of other options on offer.
