Want to shop til’ you drop whilst contributing to a good cause? Look no further than Humana.

This store offers a wide variety of products, including shoes, accessories, branded jackets, and dresses. It is a charity chain-store that supports the work of NGOs and charitable development in Sub Saharan Africa, South America, and Asia. A portion of the proceeds from purchases goes towards these causes.

With an array of stores threaded throughout the city, it’s almost impossible to visit a neighbourhood without stumbling across the scope that there is. Some of the best stores (with a larger variety of clothing) are located in L’Eixample, El Raval, Gracia, and Sant Antoni. These are my all-time favourite second-hand stores here in Barcelona.

Humana furthers offers a 10 percent discount off of purchases for those of you who wish to make a donation. As a self-confessed thrift store junkie, this is a dangerous mix. Dangerous, I said!

If you find yourself in certain neighbourhoods, you may even stumble upon some amazing branded clothing. To discover top names like Ralph Lauren, Tommy Hilfiger, Nike, and Adidas, I recommend visiting the Humana stores in Barcelona's more upscale areas such as L'Eixample, Sant Gervasi, and Sarriá. Yes I heard it through the grapevine… 

Purchasing previously-owned goods has a plethora of perks, not just for your battling bank account, but more importantly, for the environment too. 

Don’t get me wrong, the musty scent of some thrift stores can be a little less of an alluring aroma, and a lot more towards the nauseating end of that scale.

However, nothing compares to the irresistible allure of a great deal beckoning you, or the sheer excitement of discovering a hidden gem. Unfortunately, there still exists a widespread misunderstanding that perpetuates negative connotations surrounding second-hand items. 

If you’ve never really thrown yourself into tackling the turf of an opportunity shop, you might be under the impression that used items are confined to the depths of the store itself, solely for the satisfaction of antique hunters or the needy… 

I'm here to share my personal experience with you. As someone who has scoured thrift stores worldwide for years, I can confidently say that second-hand items are just as valuable as their newer, trendier counterparts. While they may require some refurbishing, that's part of the charm.
