My Experience at Piermont Retreat
I’ve been living in Europe for half a decade. So when the time came to plan a trip back to Australia, I couldn’t wait to squeeze in an adventure in Tassie.
Known as the ‘Switzerland of Australia’, this place is renowned for its postcard-worthy mountains, rainforests and beaches.
The unspoilt natural splendour is something that attracts a million-and-something visitors every year. And this time round, I’m lucky enough to be one of them. When planning my holiday in Tasmania, I wanted to seek out a mix of experiences - luxury, local, low-key and more…
I dove deep into the best places to stay in Tasmania, finding cute corners and quaint towns along the eastern and northern coastlines.
That’s one thing I love to do when I travel. I believe that a broad range of experiences leaves you with more of an authentic perspective.
There are many luxury hotels in Tasmania, but Piermont instantly stood out from the pack. The cottage charm, view-packed restaurant and backstory really got my attention. And the sublime scenery too, of course. I was eager to experience everything that was on offer.
Shortly after my arrival, the sun began to peek through the clouds. The beams lit up the colourful hills and accentuated the azure blue water.
I stepped through the grandiose doors of our accommodation and boy, was I immediately taken aback by the vistas.
I pulled back the curtains and slid the glass doors open. We had jaw-dropping ocean views and I could not help but let the word ‘wow’ drop out of my mouth. Multiple times.
After exploring the Costa Pampa villa, I felt gratitude and goosebumps seep through me. And as I sit here now, I feel incredibly grateful to have been able to stay at one of the most divine hotels in Tasmania.
Wow. I'm all wowed out. Every angle of this accommodation in Tasmania was wow-worthy. Tucked in a peaceful setting, the Aussie bush fuses with European-inspired architectural delights.
We spent the next few days exploring the property - swimming at the beach, playing tennis at the courts and having a red hot go at the kayaks. Adventure-packed days posed the perfect contrast to the calm, cosy nights by the fireplace. Falling asleep to crickets and the ocean crashing felt like a scene from a movie.
Waking up for sunrise, opening the curtains and watching the sun glimmer on the oceanfront. I loved reading and sipping coffee on the sumptuous sofa. Having stayed in many properties around the coast, I can honestly say that not many places to stay in Tasmania can compare.
On our final evening, we dined at the notorious Homestead Restaurant. We enjoyed a 3-course meal prepared with local ingredients and produce. The flavour combinations sparked notes of my home, the Mediterranean. But with a Tasmanian twist.
The vegetarian plates were delectable, fresh and satisfying. And it paired perfectly with a local bottle of Pinot Noir from Swansea. The combination? Drool-worthy, to say the least.
